The definition given by that friend of yours reminds me of the famous "Faith: believing what you know isn't true" gutting of a word.<br /><br />Paul describes our patience very interestingly: he says we "eagerly await [our salvation]". Patience doesn't mean boredom, or caring so little that we can easily wait; it means really wanting something and being able to hold out for it anyway.<br /><br />Also, the fact that a girl was named Patience is amazing. I'm glad you posted it.
